Thermal Paper Rolls & Till Rolls Ireland

BPA-free thermal rolls for EPOS systems, card terminals, receipt printers and scales. Held in stock at our Dublin 12 warehouse and delivered free anywhere in Ireland, north and south. Trade prices shown ex VAT.

Not sure which roll you need?

Most Irish businesses use one of three sizes:

  • 80x70mm for EPOS receipt printers (Epson, Star, Bixolon)
  • 57x40mm for card terminals (PAX, Ingenico, Verifone, SumUp)
  • 76x70mm bond paper for kitchen printers (not thermal)

The first number is the paper width. The second is the diameter of the roll, not the length of paper on it.

How to measure your till roll

If you have the old roll or the empty core, you have everything you need.

  1. Paper width. Measure straight across the face of the roll. This is the first number: 80, 76, 57, 60 or 44mm.
  2. Roll diameter. Measure across the end of a full roll, edge to edge. This is the second number: 70, 80, 40mm and so on.
  3. Core diameter. Measure inside the cardboard tube. Most are 12.7mm, but scale rolls are often 25, 38 or 42mm and will not fit if you get it wrong.

Match the width exactly. You can always go smaller on diameter, never bigger. There is a full measuring guide with the model charts here.

What you are actually buying

The range runs from 44mm through to 112mm wide. Standard rolls are 55gsm, which suits most counter printers. We also stock 65gsm for heavier use where the print quality matters and the roll is handled a lot, and 80gsm long-life paper rated for ten-year fade resistance for anything you need to keep.

Boxes are 20, 40 or 50 rolls depending on the size. Pallet pricing is available if you are ordering for a group or a chain, just ring us. Our 80x70mm OEM-approved roll is the one most Irish EPOS systems take, and it is the box that leaves here most often.

BPA-free and phenol-free receipt paper

Every thermal roll we sell is BPA-free as standard. We also stock phenol-free thermal paper for customers who want to go further than the BPA question, which comes up most with pharmacies and food businesses.

On recycling: the cardboard core is recyclable, but the thermal paper itself is not accepted in most Irish kerbside collections because of the heat-sensitive coating, and it should not be mixed in with clean paper. If recyclability matters to your business, the phenol-free grades are the better choice.

Delivery across Ireland

Orders placed before 1pm are dispatched the same working day, and most land the next working day anywhere in the 32 counties.

Delivery is free on all till rolls and credit card rolls, north and south, with no minimum order. Smaller non-roll items may carry a €5 charge. We stopped shipping to Great Britain after Brexit; Northern Ireland is unaffected and still free.

Why Irish businesses buy from us

We have been at this since 2007, and over 10,000 Irish businesses have ordered from us in that time. Retail, cafés, pharmacies, takeaways, hotels, forecourts and supermarkets, mostly reordering the same box every few weeks.

Stock is held in our own warehouse on the Naas Road in Dublin 12, so when the site says it is in stock, it is on a shelf a few miles from you rather than on a container somewhere.

Prices are shown ex VAT because most of our customers are VAT registered and that is the number that matters to them.

Thermal till roll FAQs

What size till roll do I need?

Check the machine first. EPOS receipt printers usually take 80x70mm. Card terminals usually take 57x40mm. Kitchen printers take 76x70mm bond paper. If you have the old roll, measure the width of the paper and the diameter of a full roll, and match both.

What is the difference between 57mm and 80mm till rolls?

The width of the paper. 80mm is used by receipt printers sitting on a counter and gives you a wider receipt. 57mm is used by handheld and countertop card terminals where the printer is smaller. They are not interchangeable; the roll has to match the printer's paper slot.

Does 80x70 mean 70mm of paper?

No, and this catches people out. 80 is the width of the paper in millimetres. 70 is the diameter of the full roll. An 80x70mm roll holds roughly 45 to 50 metres of paper depending on the gsm.

Can I use 80x70 instead of 80x80?

Yes. The paper width is identical, so it will print fine. The 80x70 roll is physically smaller so it will always fit a printer built for 80x80, you just get less paper per roll. Going the other way, an 80x80 roll may not close into a printer designed for 80x70.

Are your thermal rolls BPA-free?

Yes. Every thermal roll we sell is BPA-free as standard. We also stock phenol-free thermal paper for customers who need to go further than the BPA question, which is common in pharmacy and food handling.

Are thermal receipt rolls recyclable?

The paper core is. The thermal paper itself is not accepted in most Irish kerbside recycling because of the coating, and it should not go in with clean paper. Phenol-free grades are the better option if recyclability matters to your business.

How long does a thermal receipt last before it fades?

Standard thermal paper holds a readable print for roughly six to twelve months in normal indoor storage, less if it is in sunlight, heat or contact with plastic wallets. Our 80gsm long-life rolls are rated for ten-year fade resistance, which is what you want for anything you have to keep for revenue or warranty purposes.

How fast is delivery and is it free?

Order before 1pm and it goes out the same working day, usually arriving the next. Till rolls and card rolls deliver free anywhere in Ireland, north and south, with no minimum order.
